Environmental impact assessment

Electrical and Mechanical Building Services Engineering

We provide your business with a generic impact assessment that our trade may have on your property.

  1. Obviously being a part of the construction industry we will have the normal packaging refuse. This will largely be in the form of cardboard or paper both of which we would encourage the practice of recycling. Disposal of these products on commercial sites is the responsibility of the main contractors.

  2. Other materials such as fluorescent lamps where to be disposed of would be undertaken by a licensed agent, such as MED Electrical from Ballymena. Due to the higher risks from mercury and such within these lamps, they fall into the specialized waste category.

  3. Mechanical and electrical contracts make waste of iron, copper and lead. All of these are recycled through our own management team for recycling using the licensed scrap metal merchants “Hamill’s” in Ballymena.

  4. Waste oil recovery is recycled through our waste oil burning heating plant or distributed to a licensed recovery agent for recycling.

  5. Our office staff are well versed in conservation making optimum use of paper products by recycling and printing on reverse sides of paper we have made significant savings on paper and stationery costs each year.

  6. Switching to green electricity for our power demands in our stores and offices makes better use of N.Ireland’s resources.

High efficiency gas fired heating and water heating plant used in our offices makes better sense fro greenhouse emission savings.
